Nobel Energy was founded by Edward Charles Wood, a global energy pioneer with over three decades of experience in oil, gas, renewables, and international partnerships. Inspired by the reality that food and energy are the twin foundations of human prosperity, Nobel Energy seeks to empower nations of the Global South with projects that are not just profitable, but transformative. With headquarters in Singapore and operational backing from India, Nobel Energy is uniquely positioned to design and deliver first-mover projects in energy-poor regions — creating sovereignty, employment, and resilience where it is needed most. learly list and describe the services you offer. To bring transformative, ownership-based energy projects to nations of the Global South — empowering communities, strengthening sovereignty, and ensuring sustainable growth for future generations.
A world where energy poverty is eradicated, nations rise with dignity, and every community has access to reliable, sustainable power and food security.
Nations gain strength by building independence in partnership with others.
Every project must uplift both local communities and global partners.
Energy and food security are shared responsibilities that transcend borders and generations.
Nobel Energy invests in and owns projects with long-term commitment (15–30 years), never as passive shareholders.

Edward Wood is a global energy entrepreneur with over three decades of hands-on experience across exploration, production, project development, and nation-scale energy strategy. What distinguishes his work is not only technical depth, but a deeply held conviction that energy is more than a commodity—it is a force that shapes dignity, sovereignty, and long-term societal outcomes.
Edward began his career in 1992 as a field engineer with Halliburton, working across demanding operational environments in India and Southeast Asia. Early exposure to drilling, cementing, fracturing, and testing operations gave him a ground-level understanding of energy systems under real-world constraints. Subsequent work in India’s Northeast—reviving producing oilfields in remote, geopolitically sensitive regions—cemented his belief that context, people, and institutions are as critical as engineering.
In 1998, Edward was appointed President – India Business for Geopetrol International (France), reporting directly to the promoters. He held full executive responsibility across strategy, acquisitions, operations, and governance, expanding the company’s footprint across India and Myanmar. His work spanned exploration, production, coal-bed methane, and complex joint ventures—often building operator-grade systems from the ground up.
After decades inside conventional energy structures, Edward deliberately reframed his work. From 2012 onward, he began conceptualising the Genesis Energy Centre—a platform designed to transfer global energy knowledge into the Global South, anchored in India. In doing so, he developed a three-dimensional understanding of over 100 nations across 200+ parameters, spanning energy, geopolitics, demographics, climate, and social systems. This holistic lens now underpins Nobel Energy’s strategy.
Edward currently serves on the Global Advisory Board of the Global Challenges Forum Foundation (Switzerland), a UN-accredited institution addressing systemic global challenges, including energy security. Over his career, he has built trusted relationships with governments, multilaterals, investors, technologists, NGOs, and faith-based organisations—often acting as a bridge between sectors that rarely align easily.
Nobel Energy represents the culmination of Edward’s journey and beliefs: that energy poverty is a defining moral challenge of our time; that the Global South must not inherit the excesses of the Global North; and that sustainable prosperity requires balance—between fossil fuels and renewables, growth and restraint, capital and dignity.
For Edward, leadership is not about control.
It is about stewardship—of resources, people, institutions, and the future.
