EMPOWERING NATIONS. TRANSFORMING FUTURES.

Our STORY

Nobel Energy was founded by Edward Charles Wood, a global energy pioneer with over three decades of experience in Energy Industry and international partnerships development . Inspired by the reality that food and energy are the twin foundations of human prosperity, Nobel Energy seeks to empower nations of the Global South with projects that are not just profitable, but transformative. With headquarters in Singapore and operational backing from Geographically well positioned India where humongous energy development is taking place across all sources of energy, Nobel Energy is uniquely positioned to design and deliver first-mover projects in energy-poor regions — creating sovereignty, employment, and resilience where it is needed most.

Edward CHARLES Wood

Founder & Steward-in-Chief

Edward Wood is a global energy entrepreneur with over three decades of hands-on experience across exploration, production, project development in the Asian African Region , and nation-scale energy strategy. What distinguishes his work is not only holistic technical depth, but a deeply held conviction that energy is more than a commodity—it is a force that shapes dignity, sovereignty, and long-term societal outcomes.

Edward began his career in 1992 as a field engineer with Halliburton, working across demanding operational environments in India and Southeast Asia. Early exposure to various demanding roles in the exploration and production aspects of the Oil business in very diverse and harsh environmental , social , geographical, geopolitical  regions gave him a ground-level understanding of energy systems under real-world constraints seen uniquely in energy poverty areas . This cemented his belief that context, people, and institutions are as critical as engineering.

In 1998, Edward was appointed President – India Business for Geopetrol International (France), reporting directly to the promoters. He held full executive responsibility across strategy, acquisitions, operations, and governance, expanding the company’s footprint. His work spanned exploration, production, coal-bed methane, and complex joint ventures—often building operator-grade systems from the ground up.

After decades inside conventional energy structures, Edward deliberately reframed his work. From 2012 onward, he began conceptualising the Genesis Energy Centre—a platform designed to transfer global energy knowledge , best practices and technology into the Global South and within Global South , anchored in India. In doing so, he developed a three-dimensional understanding of over 100 nations across 200+ parameters, spanning energy, geopolitics, demographics, climate, and social systems and  from  which strategic energy development projects in the Asian African region have been advanced for development purpose after overcoming the Covid Pandemic abrupt stalling of all plans . This holistic lens now underpins Nobel Energy’s strategy.

Edward currently serves on the Global Advisory Board of the Global Challenges Forum Foundation (Switzerland), a UN-accredited institution addressing systemic global challenges, including energy security. Over his career, he has built trusted relationships with governments, multilaterals, investors, technologists, NGOs, and faith-based organisations—often acting as a bridge between sectors that rarely align easily.

Nobel Energy represents the culmination of Edward’s journey and beliefs: that energy poverty is a defining moral challenge of our time; that the Global South must not inherit the excesses of the Global North; and that sustainable prosperity requires balance—between fossil fuels and renewables, growth and restraint, capital and dignity.

For Edward, leadership is not about control.

It is about stewardship—of resources, people, institutions, and the future.

Dr. Walter Christman

Global Ambassador, Nobel Energy

Dr. Walter L. Christman  is also the Chairman & Founding Director, Global Challenges Forum Foundation. He is an international statesman, author, and institutional architect whose life’s work is dedicated to building ethical, sovereign, and resilient systems of global cooperation. He is the author of Building Global Resilience: A Call to Action, available worldwide through major bookstores and on Amazon, which provides the philosophical and operational foundation for a new model of development in the twenty-first century.

That model rests on three pillars:

• Connected Sovereignty – nations grow stronger through partnership, not dependence
• Reciprocal Freedom – prosperity must uplift all who participate in it
• A Covenant of Mutual Obligation – development is a moral commitment across generations

“These very pillars I see are also part of the intricate and wholistic model which is guiding Nobel Energy’s mission to eradicate energy poverty while preserving national dignity and long-term societal wellbeing.”

Dr. Christman is Chairman and Founding Director of the Global Challenges Forum Foundation (GCF), a Swiss-based international foundation with Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). GCF operates through an International Advisory Council with members on every continent, uniting diplomats, financiers, educators, faith leaders, youth movements, and development institutions around a single purpose: enabling nations to thrive without surrendering their sovereignty or their future.

Through GCF and its global partnerships, Dr. Christman leads the One Million Youth Leaders for Sustainable Development Beyond 2030 (1M2030) initiative, building the next generation of national and global stewards across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and Europe.

STATEMENT AS GLOBAL AMBASSADOR FOR NOBEL ENERGY

I fully endorse the various thoughts and concerns expressed by Nobel Energy with regards to the enormous divide between the Global North and Global South . The Global South stands at a historic crossroad. It can either repeat the mistakes of the North—extreme extraction, extreme consumption, and the hollowing out of societal values—or it can rise through a different path: one defined by stewardship, balance, and long-term human flourishing as Nobel Energy has so well visioned it out .

I clearly see Nobel Energy approach representing that alternative path.. and I would like to say much much deeper.

My role is to bring Nobel Energy into the global ecosystem of governments, development finance, multilateral institutions, universities, and youth leadership networks that are searching for exactly this kind of ethical, scalable, and dignified model.
